Background and Identification
The M17-R1 is the first laptop to be released by Alienware after being aquired by Dell. It features the iconic Alienware logo on the top and its model number on the bottom. It's outside cover is rubberized to improve your grip and prevent scratches and fingerprints.
Designed for gaming, it includes powerful Intel processing and dual AMD graphics cards that can handle intensive games. It also made upgrading core components easy, by providing quick access to the RAM, CPU, and GPU.
The M17-R1 is the first version of the Alienware M series, with a 17-inch, 1920 x 1200 display. The dual ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 provided powerful graphics processing for gaming and photo/ video editing. There are 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, which can be upgraded to 8 GB. Other ergonomic features include a rubberized case and a backlit keyboard.
