Ann Shipman, There could be a few reasons for your device not charging and powering on. Faulty charger/cable, faulty battery, faulty charge port/connection etc., you could try a factory reset as described in 1st link below. I'd suggest opening up the device and making sure that everything is appropriately Connected to your logic board. if not then find the plug and re connect the cable to the device. If you see nothing wrong with that, see if the charging port is loose, as this is common in low budget devices. If you see nothing wrong with that then I'm sorry, But your tablet had its run.
