Cursor Lags when Moving the Mouse
When moving the mouse on the desk there is no response on screen.
Broken Senor
If the sensor in the Logitech G-sync is broken the cursor will not move and will also cause the same problem of the sensor light not turning on as caused in the problem above.
This results in the cursor not moving as no data is being collected from the sensor and no data is being transferred to the computer.
Solution: The optical sensor in the G102 is embedded in the motherboard, and underneath the mini-CPU that reads the optical sensor. This means that the only viable option is to replace the board with a replacement board. This is another simple fix and is as simple as getting the replacement and screwing it into the place of the old one. Check out our Motherboard Replacement guide for more information.
Input Delay
When moving the mouse across the surface there can be a delay between the movement of the mouse on the surface and on the screen, a sensor malfunction can be the cause of this issue.
Solution: Hold Windows key + I key to bring up the settings panel. From there, go to Devices Mouse & Touchpad then focus on where it says “Set Delay”. Be sure it is on “No delay”. An additional fix is to clear any debris from your mouse’s sensor on the button of the mouse.
Mouse performs a double-click after only clicking once.
When clicking just once, there is still a second output to the computer, registering as two clicks.
Static Electricity
When using the mouse click on an object it can sometimes result in the G102 Lightsync double clicking instead of only clicking once. Due to the static electricity build up in the mouse and no way to discharge the buildup, the mouse will register as a double click.
Solution: Breathing into the mouse from the front by the cable, between the left-click and right-click button will cause the electricity build up to discharge from the mouse.
Pads
Solution: Sand down the pads that make contact with the button on the motherboard.
Follow our Disassembly guide to get to the pads on the left and right mouse buttons
- Sand down the pads using some 160 grit or higher sandpaper
- Clean area of dust with pressurized air
Faulty Spring
Solution: Replace the spring that holds up the left and right click buttons. To do so, follow our disassembly guide to get to the spring, then take off the old one and swap it for a new one. A pair of tweezers may be helpful to remove and replace spring.
"Drag Click"
When clicking the G102 Lightsync once the mouse will sometimes not release and causes a drag click. Dragging items or selecting large areas.
Outdated Driver
Solution: The first thing you should do is Unplugging your mouse to perform a reboot, then plug it to a different USB port and follow these steps: Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for update to reinstall the driver.
Scroll Wheel Scrolls the Wrong Way
When using the scroll wheel on the G102 Lightsync sometimes the scroll wheel scrolls in the wrong direction.
Outdated Driver
Solution: The first thing you should do is Unplugging your mouse to perform a reboot, then plug it to a different USB port and follow these steps: Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for update to reinstall the driver.
Scroll Wheel Does Not Click
When pressing the middle click button on the mouse, there is no action or output to the computer.
Faulty Scroll Sensor
The sensor that reads the scroll wheel's data and sends it to the computer could be damaged, or entirely broken.
Solution: In this case the best solution is to replace the entire mother board, as this component is integrated into the design of the board.
Scroll Wheel Does Not Move
While attempting to scroll the wheel on the mouse, the movement is very minimal or there is no movement at all.
Dirt / Dust build up
The most common reason for this is due to dust or dirt lodged in the assembly where the scroll wheel rotates.
Solution: Clean the scroll wheel and holder.
- Remove the scroll wheel as in our Scroll Wheel replacement guide.
- Clean the holder with pressurized air.
Cursor Does not Move
While having the mouse plugged in and the computer is on, you still notice the cursor does not move around when you move the mouse.
Broken or Faulty Wire
When plugging in the G102 Lightsync the light of the sensor does not turn on indicating that there is no power going to the G102 Lightsync. This issue is caused by a faulty usb cable.
Solution: Replacing the USB2.0 cable is the simplest way to fix the problem as it is as simple as unplugging the connector inside the G102 Lightsync and replacing it with the new cord that comes with a 4 pin connector. To prevent the wire from getting frayed follow the same path the original wire took inside the mouse. For more detailed steps, see our guide on replacing the USB Cable.
Broken Sensor
