I recently bought a ASUS ROG STRIX GL753VD. Seller said that they were editing dome audio in FL Studios when it randomly shut down. Ever since then, he said he’d turn it on and it would just turn on the fan and HDD, but no screen change.
I’ve tried resetting the bios, reseating the ram (one stick), and reseating the hdd. What else could I try or is this where I’ll have to get the motherboard fixed or even replaced

Hi @returntomonke ,
Do you think that it is booting into Windows?
If so try connecting an external monitor to the laptop's HDMI port (or mini DP port) and check if it shows a display or not. Don't forget to press Fn + F8 to toggle the display between the laptop screen only, the external monitor only or both on together.
If not, can you get into BIOS on startup with a display? Press F2 on startup and check
It seems as though it is not starting or at least not passing POST (Power On Self Test).
Not much happens until it passes POST (which doesn’t take long) so there may not be any lights except the Power light or perhaps sometimes a blinking caps lock or power light indicating a problem if it fails during POST (blink error code)
How did you reset the BIOS?
If only by disconnecting the battery and holding the Power button operated for 15 seconds then in this instance it may not have been enough to restore the BIOS to its default values.
Try a full power refresh by disconnecting the main battery and removing the motherboard so that you can remove the CMOS battery from the underside of the motherboard. Remember the orientation of the battery before removing so that you reinsert it the right way. Usually it is +ve on top
When you have the battery out, measure its voltage and if it is <2.6V DC, replace it. It looks like a CR2032 coin cell battery so it is commonly available most everywhere. Check the type number on the battery just in case it is another type. Checking the battery voltage allows enough time for the BIOS to fully reset as now there is no power at all on the motherboard.
If you haven’t got a DMM (digital mulitmeter) then allow a minute or so, before reinserting the CMOS battery to allow the BIOS to default back to its factory default settings, hopefully restoring any settings that were corrupt and preventing a normal start
Then reinsert the CMOS battery, reinstall the motherboard, reconnect the main battery, close up the laptop and try turning it on.
Here’s an image taken from a teardown video of the laptop, showing the location of the CMOS battery on the underside of the motherboard.
(click on image to enlarge for better viewing).
If it still fails after this then it is a motherboard problem

I got a Marshall model 3315, 150 watt solid state head that seems to be missing a few parts. I don’t know the history of the amp as I got from a guy thst was about to scrap it at a scrap yard, so I gave him $5 for it. At 1s, I thought it was a JCM, but when I opened it up, no tubes. I’m going to try to post some photo’s. Can anyone tell me what I need? I want to see it rock again.

Hi,
Circuit restoration is not for the fainthearted so I hope you know what you’re letting yourself in for as usually it ends up being a labour of love and costs more in time (and sometimes parts) than is sometimes warranted.
You don’t state what parts are missing so here’s the schematic for the amplifier that should help.
It shows the compete circuit with component type and values so you may just have to start tracing through the amp, using the circuit to where the “missing” parts are and find out what type and value component they are (were?) as per the circuit diagram and then search on places such as digikey.com or mouser.com to find replacements. If you are unlucky and the component is “proprietary” e.g. the power transformer then this makes it more difficult because it may no longer be available and you have to contrive using the nearest suitable replacement.
After you have replaced all the missing parts then you need to check if it works as chances are that it won’t. Ask yourself why were there parts missing in the first place? Have they been removed because someone else tried to fix it and gave up or used the amp as a “donor parts” amp to fix another one perhaps?
After checking that the power transformer is OK i.e. not short circuit, open circuit or short to earth (if the original is still there that is and not a new replacement that you installed) and that you’re not likely to blow the fuse straightaway, you can apply power to the amp for the first time.
Be prepared to remove the power immediately if some components start to get hot very quickly and they start to smoke.
If nothing at all happens when the power is connected and the amp is turned on, then at least you have the schematic to find out why it is not powering on.
I’m certainly not trying to discourage you from doing this, just letting you know what may be in store for you.
Have fun ;-)

I bought a pair of A.W.G. cable crimpers and I do not understand the numbers on them. I think it came with metric numbers. Does anywhere I can get a chart for conversion? I have looked everywhere.

Hi,
Here’s a metric to AWG conversion chart. Be aware that the metric sizes are only approximate and not exact. See this link
If it is not metric post the make and model number of the crimpers or perhaps an image so that the numbers can be seen.
Here’s how to do this on iFixit 在已经存在的问题里加入图片

Please help!! I dropped my tablet on the wood floor and it stopped responding! It won't turn on, it won't charge, and the area near the power button keeps getting so hot that I have to keep it sat in front of the AC so it won't overheat and explode! It was very expensive, please I need help!! Help please I'm really panicking and don't know what to do!

Hi,
The tablet will need to be opened and inspected for damage.
Given that the tablet is heating up without it being turned on I suggest that you open it up as soon as possible and disconnect the battery from the systemboard. Then you can relax and take your time inspecting and testing for any damage.
Here’s the ifixit LG G Pad 10.1 Battery Replacement guide that will help you to do this. Once the tablet is open go to Steps 4-6 to see how to disconnect the battery. You can leave the battery in situ, just disconnect it.
If doing this yourself seems too daunting take your tablet to a reputable, professional mobile phone or electronics repair service and ask for a quote. If you decide to do this, do it sooner than later to minimize any further damage to the tablet.

Have cleaned out the ink pads. How do you reset the error message on the printer?

Hi @mogee ,
There are various services online that supply software (at a price) that will reset the waste ink pad counter so that you can use the printer again after the pads have been cleaned or replaced.
There are some that offer a free trial so that you can use the printer but it only resets back to 90% used status i.e. 10% of pad life left before the message reappears.
Search online for reset Epson 837 waste ink pad counter to get results. Here is just one example of what I mean.

Hi
I’ve had this issue before and there isn’t a lot you can do BUT there is something the person who sold it to you can do ,the person who sold it to you can contact apple support and can exchange details and hopefully have the password reset but that’s if they are willing to cooperate
If they don’t do anything about it,if you bought it on eBay see if you can return the item and If you can’t return the item, start a case/claim to get a full refund
I hope all goes well for you
Any questions please ask
Thanks:)

My original Xbox flashes between orange and green when I turn it on. It was sitting in a barn for awhile. Ive brought it inside and let it warm up but it's still flashing. Is there anyway to fix this problem?

Jessica, first you want to check your audio and video cable connections to the system and your television. Make sure they are properly connected.

Try replacing the battery and check if that resolves the problem.
Here's a video that shows what to do.
Search online for BLP799 battery to find battery suppliers that suit you best.
