There's no reason you can't but without the temp sensor you must be cautions if your battery does over heat because it can lead to damages on the touchscreen as well.
Why does Nintendo mention a size #0 screwdriver while iFixit says #00?

The size #00 is just a little smaller than the #0. When we wrote these guides, we used whatever worked for us. Either should work, but generally you should use the largest that will work to avoid stripping the screw.

can't you just use any lithium battery like this?? It shouldn't have to be a special exclusive device only battery.
Great idea! Maybe you can try it out and let us know if it works or not!
I have trouble unscrewing the screws. I do need to lube the screws and if so what lube do I use
