No wash cycle Kitchenaid

I have a two year old Kitchenaid kdte104ess2. Replaced inlet pump already and has worked good for a while. Recently it started to not run the wash cycle. I would reset panel and it would run fine for a few days. Getting water and drains fine. No wash through the arms during cycles. Checked float and checked wiring for anything loose. Diagnostic said 6-4 code but again my float clicks and moves freely. I pulled out the other day because now it stopped wash cycle completely even after reset and hard reset at beaker. Did a hard reset and diagnostic. On diagnostic the pump and arm I could here working. Ran a normal cycle and again just fills and drains and fills and sits till the end. Plenty of humidity and heat when I open door but not clean and no wash cycle is heard. Could it be control panel. Again pump worked once on diagnostic so I don’t think it’s that

Did this issue get resolved? I have the same model, same problem. I also noticed that during the diagnostic cycle the run light (on the front) was not on and the clean, sanitize lights never came on. Please post how this was resolved.

Cause 1

Water Pump Belt

The water pump belt might be worn or broken. However, few dishwashers have a water pump belt, you should search for your model number to determine if it has a water pump belt. To access the water pump belt, remove the lower panel. The water pump belt is located on the bottom of the motor. If the water pump belt is broken or worn, replace it.

Cause 2

Water Inlet Valve may have failed again

The water inlet valve opens to allow water to enter the dishwasher. If the valve is clogged or defective, the dishwasher won’t get enough water to clean dishes properly. If the water inlet valve is clogged, replace it. Do not attempt to clean the water inlet valve—cleaning the valve could make it more likely to fail.

Cause 3

Lower Wash Arm Assembly

The lower wash arm circulates water to the dishes in the lower rack. If water can’t flow properly through the lower wash arm, the dishes in the lower rack won’t be cleaned properly. Over time, food particles can get trapped in the tiny holes in the wash arm. If your dishes are coming out dirty, the wash arm might be clogged. To unclog the lower wash arm, remove the wash arm and dislodge any debris from the holes. If the wash arm is extremely clogged, replace it.

No belt on this unit. Just a pump assembly. Jets are fine and water inlet valve is letting in water For some reason the pump motor is not working. Only time it did was during one of the reset procedures. Then not again. Pump Was very sporadic on running and now not at all

What was the final outcome, mine is doing the same exact things and does not have a water pump belt either. Fills fine but then won’t run / cycle the water through the dishwasher. I throughly cleaned them water arms which were badly clogged. But still just fills and drains, will not cycle through wash mode. I unplugged it to reset the computer as well.

My unit just started doing the same thing. What was the issue with you machine? I'd hate to pay for a repair man if it's a simple fix or something I can do.

Mine started doing the same thing but after reading some of the post of electrical connections and also there was another post of replacing the control panel. I removed the cable from the control panel to board and used some dielectric grease and it’s working now. Not sure if this is the complete fix but it was not cleaning until I used the grease on the connection. So we’ll see

I determine pessimistically that these modern convenience machines are built to fail. Not majorly, but just enough.

Why build a latch out of plastic when heat is involved?? I will happily resort to doing dishes by hand than spending another dime on these poorly built appliances.

Our kitchenaid dishwasher has worked hit or miss for the last 3 of the 5 years since buying it. Express wash for a week then Prowash for a week. Sometimes no cycle works, dishes by hand.

I changed the inlet valve and turbidity sensor. Still about the same results. I’ve kicked it, punched it and slammed the door countless times and that seemed to do something.

So I fully believe it has something to do with the cheesy lame PLASTIC door latch. I twist it a tad and pull it upwards before closing, and that seems to help. Maybe the rubber seal is too thick at that spot? It’s disappointing to think they put all that effort into a fine machine to cap it off with a crappy door latch.

Problem solved! Dishwasher would turn on like normal but won't wash, spray arms wouldn't move. I googled the problem, watched a video and their solution work. I needed to replace the sump motor kit. Bought one online for about $189. And my son was able to install it in about 20 minutes. Super happy this fixed the problem.

EDIT: It has been about 4 months since we replaced the sump motor kit and dishwasher is working great!

My Kitchenaid KDTE104ESS3 has had some of the same troubles. Seems to pump ,but its erratic. Now it does not heat the water while washing or drying and will do nothing for long periods of time. I’m going to call for service, but they have already had to change the motor once during the first year of ownership and I’m afraid to put money into a bad unit. The parts are still under warranty, but I’m on the hook for the labor. Very dissatisfied with this unit. It’s only 3 1/2 years old. They have made these units too complicated. I might purchase the cheapest model with a rotary knob to see if those units are more reliable. Sorry if I was of no help. One of the post I read changed the diverter motor after having trouble with cycles and heat. It corrected the problem but he had changed multiple parts before getting it repaired. Dishwasher does not heat the water or dry the dishes

my Kitchenaid is similar - fills but sometimes won't wash I have to drain and try again sometimes after the 4th or 5th time is will work ... I hate this diswasher - had a Bosch previously for 10 years without an ounce of problem. It's frustrating - I think we will just replace it with a Bosch

I had the same problem. Replaced water inlet, turbidity sensor and hard resets. Worked a tad, started to throw a few different codes and main pump stopped working. I had 120ac coming out of control board. Internal fuse was still good. I re-seated all the connectors on the board. Went to the pump, no 120vac. Then I noticed all the cheap connectors. I carefully took the connector apart, reinstalled the wires, pump turned on. I repeated this on all the main connectors, not the bananas. Then I got crazy, pulled the diverter motor and lubed the shaft, cleaned out diverter tank, re-seated everything. The overflow float I also cleaned. Basically I did an overhaul on the washer. So far it’s been working like new. I’m thinking it’s the cheap connectors causing a cold connection. Hope this helps. Repair cycle time: 2.5 hr.

I’m having the same problem with my dishwasher- same model. I had someone come out and he replaced the control board- around $280 for parts and labor. Worked perfect after replacement for a few weeks but noticed it doing it again. Seems to now only do it if I switch from normal made to tough or a different mode. It fills up in the bottom but never washes. I then reset and choose normal and it works.
