Pieces of Tape for Hard Drive

I'm trying to replace the HDD on a mid 2010 Mac Mini with a SSD. I followed the iFixit guide (Mac Mini 2010中期 硬盘更换) but forgot to put the spacer on the back of the SSD to make up for the difference in depth from the original HDD. When I tried to put it back together, it wasn't fitting together properly, so the thermal (?) tape keeping the plastic cover and heat sensor on the hard drive (the "tape" seen in this Apple part http://www.amazon.com/Apple-OEM-Original...) and the top pad to the optical drive flex cable (just for illustrative purposes http://www.powerbookmedic.com/Mac-Mini-U...) lost all of their adhesiveness.

Is there any way to buy new pieces of tape without having to buy another heat sensor? Or something else I can use in its place? And what kind of adhesive could I use to re-adhere the top pad to the optical drive connector?

Please let me know,

Thanks

I would use plain black electrical tape to cover the wires around the edge of the drive. The function is to hold the wires so they don't get caught as well as cover the exposed parts of the sensor PCB from damage.

As to the cap over the ribbon cables connector onto the logic board. You could use some contact adhesive. paint the top of the ribbon and the bottom of the loose pad. Let the adhesive dry so its tacky make sure to align the cap correctly if you mess up or it's damaged its time for a new ribbon cable.

The little strips of tape on the hard drive connector and thermal sensor lost some of their stickiness, so I used electrical tape, cut to size. Since the SSD is 7mm thick vs the 9mm of the original, I used four 2" long pieces of foam tape to create spacers. Leave the wax paper on one side so the hdd is not stuck to the CD drive.
