Cuisinart has an issue with the heater - the aluminum heater develops pin holes which come from either poor aluminum or micro cracks caused by the bending / forming of the heater from a straight piece of extrusion. I've been through two of these, and this one is my last. Of course they won't fess up to the bad metallurgy.

I take very good care of anything i have spent money on. Great care actually. My pot came from Cuisinart as a replacement EXACTLY 2 years ago. Now this one is malfunctioning and leaking. They have a 3 year warranty, that's WHY I BUY CUISINART. Today I was told that there is NOT A 3 YR WARRANTY on the ones they sent as a replacement. WHY.....it was a brand new pot. I will send them the whole thing back and they can fix, but they don't want to. I have told MANY PEOPLE how good Cuisinart is and how they stand behind their products, but I guess not if they sent you a replacement once. So discouraging. They will give me 20% off a brand new one, but I don't have the funds for a new pot. Any suggestions will help. Sue

So, for the lack of making things right here, they'll lose a bunch of customers where they could simply have sent a reconditioned replacement for peanuts.
