It is theoretically possible, yes. If you happened to find components that somehow just happened to be compatible with each other. You don't just need parts that are compatible with the cpu, you have bus sizes and speeds, formats all kinds of things to take into account, and on top of that they need to work with each other. So practically, no. haha

Hey Mate, Firstly, in that model, it is possible to replace the airport card. However, upgrading it would mean you would put a different type of airport card. Therefore either the plugs wouldn't fit, or the system would not recognise it. Remember, there are some parts that cannot be changed in a computer. Yes, unfortunately, you cannot really 'upgrade' the motherboard as there are limits. The motherboard on its own costs pretty much the whole computer, so you may as well treat yourself and buy a new Mac.

Different USB ports/chargers have different amperages(current). So the one you are charging just could be really weak. Try charging it on different chargers and see if the problem is resolved. Hey @simonm62936 & @adrianvann, This still can be fixed. If the actual socket on the motherboard is broken, you can strip a little bit of the wire off the cable and then solder it on. Be careful not to spend too much time touching the motherboard with the tip otherwise you really will be in for a new motherboard. Simon, might you be able to send a picture of what happened to you? Hey Mate, Does the airpot have a thing that when it falls out of your ear or is taken from your ear, the music pauses? If so, they have a little camera or distance sensor that allows this to work.
