MacBook SSD Upgrade

This wasn't necessarily a fix, but I wanted to speed up my 2007 MacBook because it still works great for Photoshop and Illustrator. I was also holding off upgrading the OS to Lion until I could get an SSD so the installation process would be less tedious. I purchased a Crucial 240GB SSD from Amazon which is double the storage of the 120GB SATA that came with the MacBook.

The hard drive swap couldn't have been any easier. I might have hit a snag if I didn't already have a screw driver set with Torx screw bits, but the screws stick out far enough that someone could unscrew them with a small pair of pliers I suppose. I don't think it took longer than ten minutes to swap the hard drives and get everything back together.

I would highly recommend reading through the guide carefully and making sure you have a set of Torx screwdrivers available. Otherwise, if you're comfortable with removing the battery and undoing a couple screws I don't think you should run into any problems.
