Identification and Background
The Evo line of computers were introduced in 2001 by Compaq for business use. The Evo line replaced the Deskpro and Armada lines. Evo was eventually rebranded to HP Compaq, which is still the business line.
The 1000v is one of many laptops manufactured under the Evo line. It was designed as a modular computer which allows for easy interchanging of parts.
