The BMW Isetta, introduced in 1955, is a legendary "bubble car" that features a single front-opening door which swings out along with the steering column for cabin access. Originally designed by the Italian firm Iso, BMW re-engineered the microcar to use a 247cc or 298cc single-cylinder motorcycle engine, achieving a fuel efficiency of approximately 78 mpg!!!
