My switch lite wont recognize button presses

Could be a lot of things. Since you have replaced the screen, it could be that the touchscreen was damaged and not registering your input. I would check that one out and also the ribbon cable, in the worst case, you need to replace it for a new one.

I know that there are some really bad shells out there, so it's possible that the shell squished something on the motherboard or broke ribbon cables. Can you let us know which brand you are using? Or is it something from AliExpress?

Are all the buttons stopped working? If yes, it could be motherboard related...

In my opinion, I would transfer it back to the old shell and test again to see if that will work. OR if it's too damaged, buy a broken/donor Switch Lite and get the shell from that one.
