Wifi and Bluetooth not working

I had to reset my Kindle Scribe. It took a few attempts before my home's wireless networks appeared. I tried to reregister the device but it was so slow connecting it timed out at the very last stage, verification. After that no wifi network would show at all. I tried setting it up through my phone but the few times that worked the BT connection dropped out after a few seconds. The last dozen reboots neither wifi nor BT seem to be working. I suspect there is something wrong with the internal aerial. Any suggestions?

Hi @niallleona39330

Try using the tablet's WiFi (or BT) as close as possible to your phone's WiFi (or BT) i.e. <10cm and check if the tablet detects and connects OK and that the connection remains stable.

If it does then it could be an antenna problem.

Here's a teardown video that may help to check if the antenna connections are OK or not.

Looking at the video it appears that there are two antennae in the tablet. The antenna cables can be seen being disconnected from the motherboard at 4:40 and 4:54 minutes respectively, into the video.

Take heed of the comment below the video regarding how not to remove the display assembly. Not that you should have to do this
