My disk drive's laser lights up but does not recognize disks
When I insert a CD or DVD, the laser lights up, but it does not read the disk. Can I adjust the potentiometer, and if so, how?

@daneelliottd532 if it does not read any CD/DVD/ or game disk, it is unlikely that adjusting the Pot's will fix this. It does sound like a bad laser. Have you cleaned the laser lens already? I'd start with that.
Now, if you are really thinking that a Pot adjustment will make a difference, use this XBOX 360 POT CALIBRATION Do this with care since you are running risk of burning out your laser if done wrong.

I cleaned it with a dry Q-tip and is still does not recognize my music CD. :( I'll try to see if the pots need adjustment.
@daneelliottd532 careful with that. POTS should never "need" adjustment. All they are doing is controlling the voltage to your Laser. As the laser ages the adjustment can help, but it can also burn out your laser if not done right.
@oldturkey03 I've found a good replacement laser on eBay. I'll look into buying it.
I found a what looks like a bulging capacitor. I’ll add a pic onto the post
