I had a problem with the volume down button so I disassembled my ipod and used contact lenses liquid to clean it. My ipod had had a really close contact with coffee some year ago. When I put the device back together. The green light started flashing when I switched my ipod off. Any ideas why it is so? And whether the battery will get flat quicker?

I am not sure about having used the contact lens cleaner. Most of the time it contains things like boric acid,sodium or potassium chloride, and multiple other conducting preservatives. I recommend that you once more disassemble your iPod and clean it using this guide after that change your battery as well. That way you will not have to worry about it later. Reevaluate for further damage, if any. Hope this helps, good luck.
