Water + Red X + It Doesn't Charge!

Ok, this is my last attempt to solve this by myself (With your help of course) before trying international support. I already searched at the answer section, but i couldn't find anything so specific as my case.

My Ipod had fallen into water (bathroom sink), turned on. A few moments later, it went totally dead. I've read on the internet that i could save it by letting it on a bucket with rice for some days. That's what i did.

3 days later, i took it from there and tried to turn it on. At first, it showed the "connect to charge" message. But when i did it , a red circle with a cross showed up on the screen.

It doesn't enter disk mode, and i'm guessing that the "slap on the back" solution won't work if the ipod isn't fully charged.

as the red cross appears faintly on the screen, i'm assuming that it doesn't have any charge.

HOWEVER, i CAN'T charge it!

NOTHING happen when i try to, not by the wall charger, not by the PC.

I'm out of options, you guys are my last hope.

This ipod means a lot to me, it was given by a meaningful friend.

Thanks in advance!

And sorry for the bad english.

Aldo, first off a couple of things. the rice trick will only work in the acute phase to replace some of the water. It will not fix the iPod. second, the "slap on the back" trick will only temporarily free a stuck hard drive. It is by no means a permanent fix. Now, in your particular case, I would suggest the following. Disassemble your iPod, use this as your guide. It's a bit tough to take apart, but not impossible. Of course, remove your battery, hard drive and LCD. Clean your logic board using this guide. Once it is all cleaned, replace your battery with a new one. In the meantime, you can check the HDD with a USB-to-ZIF adapter to see if it still functions. If your iPod was submerged, I would definitely replace it. It will ultimately show corrosion failure. As for the LCD, you can see if it still works later on, but again, plan on replacing it. All the guides are iPod 6th Generation Total cost for parts will run you about ~$100 (without logic board). Again, parts that I would replace are the battery, the HDD, the LCD and worst case scenario the logic board. Hope this helps, good luck.
