@yeltep looks like bad diffuser sheets. It is physical part of your display and thus won't show on a screen grab. you could try and see if you can disassemble the panel and replace the sheets or you may need to look toward a replacement panel.

To add to old turkey’s answer I often see this when stored in a humid space. This is mold damage. You’ll want to use a cloth wet with diluted bleach to wipe down the surfaces and use a mister (fog level) to go over the logic boards giving it a good day to dry.

@danj thanks for reply, I think this unlikely as it is in a dry environment. It is possible some cleaner got into the thing I guess. I fear it is new monitor time

@yeltep - Unless you are in a very dusty location where the sheets which have a slight static charge can collect the very fine dust. I’m pretty sure this is dampness issue, it doesn’t take much. Think mildew is that something you are likely to see?

@yeltep how dry is it? The monitor could be almost 16 years old. Dry and hot environment can most certainly cause cracks in the diffuser etc. If nothing else, you can take the LCD panel apart and take a look at those sheets. See if you are looking a cracks or something else. In theory, it's all academics since I have not come across good replacements. You could replace the whole LCD for around USD $150
