found a random plastic chunk
Photo 3i pulled my gpu out yesterday and then i found a chunk of plastic inside my pc and i feel like it’s come off the gpu bc i’ve never seen it before and now i’m struggling to get my gpu to
work does anyone know what it could be

What is the make and model number of the PC or the motherboard if a custom build?
What is the make and model number of the CPU (not the GPU) in case the CPU has built in graphics which you can use if the GPU card is faulty? Most Intel CPUs have inbuilt graphic adapters
This is your 2nd question regarding the problem so did you screw the GPU back in with the PC turned on?
Does the plastic piece appear to have come from the GPU card or the PCI slot where the card is inserted?

@jayeff the photos should be up and the cpu does not have built in graphics i’ve been using the pc for a bjt now and i dropped the pc and i took the glass panel off and found the plastic thing sitting ontop of the power supply looking like it fell there i had connection from my gpu to hdmi for a bit but once i went to screw the gpu in it moved and disconnected again

Looks like some sort of retaining latch or similar.
Sometimes a GPU card has a latch at the bottom end away from the output connections i.e. other end from where you plug in the monitor, to lock it into the PCIe slot.
The other end of the GPU card is held down by a screw at the top along the case chassis.
The latch is on the GPU card and clips down over the slot.
If this is not the case with yours you may just have to carefully inspect the whole area to check for where it has broken off from.
No video is a help as it points to where it may be i.e. GPU card but this could just be a coincidence and that you have two problems due to the fall i.e. broken plastic piece and a faulty GPU card or card slot.
Can you try the GPU card in another slot on the motherboard?

@jayeff i only have one slot to put the gpu in but if i were to put my emails or one of my socials in the comment so you reckon you could tell me where the latch would go so i can see if it is the latch

Might be easier to search online for images of the make and model number of the GPU card.
A lot of the newer cards that take up the space of two slots (side by side, but only plug into one) don't have it.
