How to replace power button

I saw that ifixit sells original Google Pixel (not the XL) power buttons, but there’s no guide on it. On top of that, I couldn’t find one anywhere on YouTube. If possible, could someone make a guide on how to replace the power button? Or at least show me how to? As old as my phone is, I still want to use it a little bit longer before I commit to buying a new phone. Currently, my screen and battery are broken, and I’m seeing to replacing them soon as not everything I want is backed up. I want to be able to fix every issue my phone’s been giving me since late 2018, but I don’t want to seem like I’m telling you how to do your job or that I’m entitled anything. I just really enjoy seeing the community help each other, and I find it hard to believe that I’m the first person to say something about the faulty power button since the phone’s launch in late 2016. On a sidenote, most teardowns of the original Pixel (not the XL; I only found two) never touched the power button, so I’m lost on that end as well. I’d highly appreciate it if somebody could make a guide. This is on a much lower priority than the power button, but if somebody could inform me as to where the bluetooth is located within the phone would be helpful as well. I know I’m asking a lot, but the bluetooth thing is more of a want than a need, unlike the power button. Thank you to whoever decides to reply, as I will be at the mercy of your advice.

Hi @s4_rose ,

Did you notice that at Step.20 in the ifixit Google Pixel Motherboard Replacement guide, it mentions disconnecting the power and volume buttons ribbon cable from the systemboard?

Perhaps the guide is sufficient to help you to replace the Power / Volume buttons.

If you do decide to use the guide take pictures as you do the repair and then you can create a Power / Volume button repair guide for others to use in the future. ;-)

Here’s how to do this

Most of the guides found on ifixit are created by contributors, just like you and not by ifixit

I wouldn't have thought to look at a different repair guide, but that does makes sense. Any repair that requires you to disconnect the power button would also include this. But no, I didn't notice that it was in that guide because I haven't replaced my motherboard before.
