Repair information and guides for the 2015 Retina MacBook Air. Model A1534

What is this strange clicking noise that comes from the inside?

I’ve just bought a used Macbook Pro (13”, early 2015, manufactured in 2016).

It hasn’t been tampered with as far as I know, but there is a strange clicking noise that’s coming from the body. It’s similar to a HDD click if you know what I’m talking about, but it obviously has an ssd.

It seemingly occurs at random times, and not related to speaker volume. By the sound it’s like something mechanical.

It sounds like it’s coming from the fan, but the fan itself works properly as I tested it out.

I managed to record it (sorry for the background noise, just turn the volume down until you barely hear that and you’ll hear that clicking sound just about how loud I can hear it):

I don’t even know where to start or what to disassemble/replace, I don’t really want to order random parts and start replacing random stuff.

Has anyone encountered this or something like it?

from the recording it’s seem a shortcut, an electric problem. You have to remove back cover, open the lid and put the MacBook on the side of a table face down (keyboard on the table, monitor 90 degrees outside the hedge of the table) so you can turn it on and analyze exactly what is happening
