Tools similar to what is included in this repair kit:
Soldering iron or hot air rework station
Some kind of magnification unit: magnifying lamp, usb microscope etc
Lots of youtube stuff available on how to replace micro usb ports, opening cases. Exactly which component needs to be replaced and how to replace it depends on the Kobo model, afaik.
