Speaker does not cut off when headphones plugged in

When I plug in my headphones they work fine except that the speaker on the tablet does not shut off. Have tried several headphones and checked some obvious setting but nothing seems to correct the problem

tripld sounds like a stuck headphone jack. Sometimes a bit of 90%+ isopropyl alcohol (1-2 drops only) and moving a headphone connector in and out of the jack may free it up. If that does not work, you will have to disassemble your Tab and change the audio jack. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Audio Jack Replacement
