GSM iPad 2 with 16, 32, or 64 GB of storage, and a Dual Core A5 Processor. Model Number A1396. Repair is complicated and requires heat and prying.

iPad 2 3G Aluminum back replacement

I accidentally dropped my iPad2 3G and the aluminum part close to the speaker is a little bit bumped (and has this flat side to it). What should I do? Does iFixit have a replacement or will Apple help me replace the back cover?

This is why I was thinking to change my smart cover to smart case (third party cases)

With such a new device Apple may be the only place to get a replacement part unless there uis a fritzed one on eBay? Cant be that old. Do you have any form of insurance? Many credit cards offer 30 - 90 day insurance on purchases
