How can I INCREASE oven temp.
I would like to INCREASE the maximum oven temp from 465 F to 500 F. I have a gas unit. I have already stuffed up the oven vent in attempt to INCREASE the temp. It helps somewhat but I need to go higher to bake pizza

@ramses2 you really can’t. No matter who well you insulate it etc. it is your thermostat that turns it off at any time where it reaches the temperature. The only way to modify this is by changing the thermostat to one that has higher limits. Those are not easy to find since 475 Deg. F is the most common shut-off temp for the oven. so you would have to find one with higher limits and modify your oven. Problem here is that you have a gas oven and my concern is that this thing will become a fire/health hazard. I’d suggest that you purchase true pizza oven.

Ha Ha If wishes were horses, beggers would ride. I wish I could afford a pizza oven but on my limited retirement income that's not going to be possible.
@ramses2 I totally understand. I just hate for something bad to happen to your oven
I need to point out that once I turn on the BROILER, it stays on. So, the temp gauge should not play a role. If the broiler STAYS ON , I would think that the temp in the oven should keep rising.
Another thought: if I put the pizza stone on the floor of the oven wouldn't it get the maximum heat from the broiler ? The stone would, after all, be only 2-3 inches from the broiler.

What the make and model number?

The make is Kenmore. An older unit . Sorry, I don't have the model number. When I go to make a pizza, I turn on the broiler and leave it on. An hour later the best temp I can get is 465 F. Since the broiler does not turn off and on, I would have thought that the temp would keep climbing but it does not.

I found the model number in an odd place. It is 362. 71112001
