I have no idea why, but the speaker seems to making a cracking sound on higher volumes. I believe it's from the bass driver. I am not certain if this is from the beach sand. I have trying for the past 4 hrs to remove the grill with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have removed the bottom end, the charging/aux port and the chrome around the start button.

Brookstone announced the recall of 164,000 wireless speakers because of the risk of fire associated with their lithium-ion batteries.
The affected model is the Big Blue Party, a large indoor-outdoor speaker that was sold by major U.S. retailers and websites from December 2013 through August 2018 for about $200. Consumers should stop using the devices immediately.

Sounds like you have most of it, now use a small flat head or flat plastic they use in removing parts in car, work around top where grill is..turn speaker upside down, if loose grill should slide down..
