Am I supposed to hear from one side of the speaker?

I can only hear the music from the logo side of the speaker and not the other side.

On the logo-side (front) are the speakers, on the other side (rear) you will find the battery. There are a lot of photos in the net where you can confirm this,

e.g. JBL Charge 2 Plus电池更换
