Screen turns grey when powered on. Can the screen be the only problem?

When I turn on my phone the screen wont show anything but a grey screen. The notification light at the top works just fine. Is the screen the only thing that needs to be replaced.

robin koort it is possible that this is a screen damage. Of course it could also be the motherboard itself. I'd go with the easier and cheaper and replace the screen. Of course you do want to check all the ribbon cables and connectors as well and check to see if you can identify any obvious damaged components. Use these guides to work on your phone.
