@ongosib, TomB , To be safe check all fuses in case the pwr. window circuit uses more then one fuse. Check for power to the switch(key on), no power to switch check plug and wires for corrosion/ damage. If you have power to the switch, check the switch(contacts in switch may be worn/corroded/damaged. If switch is working probable bad window motor/binding regulator, test the power window motor/regulator,replace if weak, damaged or not functioning. Find below a couple links to help troubleshoot power windows and last link will show what may be involved in replacing window motor/regulator. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

My driver side window goes down smooth but comes up only 1 inch at a time. I have to keep pressing the up button multiple times to get the window fully closed. If the window is already down when I start the car then the window goes up as expected. So it seems like my issue is not mechanical or electrical but rather programming? It’s like it forgets the window height when the window is lowered. Any ideas how to fix this?

If you disconnected the battery in your subaru for any reason, or perhaps replaced a fuse just before you started having the issue, you may need to recalibrate your window or possibly all your electric windows.

Watch this video for the sequence of how to recalibrate them.
