Hey, I have a Nikon D5300. The flash mechanism seems to look different than previous nikons. The flash pops open but will not light in all modes. This causes really dark photos or photos to look yellow with the focusing light.
The camera has been factory reset.

Sounds like either the bulb has blown or the capacitor has gone, there are no guides for this model on iFixit, you'd have to search youtube, but my advice is to take it to your local Nikon service centre. There are a lot of parts to remove to get to the required components and is a very difficult job even with a guide.
