Tablet is asking for password?

Keeps asking for password, nothing will open it

try a hard reset. first make sure the device is charged. then turn it off. when off, press and hold the power+volume down button. once it starts to boot, release power button but hold volume key still. a recovery screen should show up. use the volume keys to select the factory reset option. it should reboot and reset.
