Tlaleng Teetsi posted just for completion sake. Obviously people are still looking at this question. If your TV comes on and then off again this is usually related to a bad power board. Unplug your set and remove the back cover. Check the power board for any obviously damaged components like domed or leaking caps. After that, you want to use a multimeter and check the fuses on your power board for continuity and check the power supply to see if it supplies the standby voltage. To show you where and what to test will be easier if you post some pictures of your power board with your question. That way we can see hat you see. Use this guide for that.
