Why is my Blu-ray player not reading my disc?
We put in our disc and pressed play but it says disc cannot be read. How can I fix this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear about your trouble. It is not uncommon for Blu-Ray Disc Drives to fail, especially in devices like a playstation. The reason why these fail can vary from device to device, based on use, location, age, many reason. One sure indication though that this is simply a failed Disc Drive is the error messages "Disc Cannot Be Read". The 1st simple fix I would try is to get a can of air duster and blow out your Blu-Ray. ( Make Sure It Is Powered Off) If that doesn't work, then there are a few fixes, such as replacing the Disc Drive or the Laser that reads your Disc. Either way your Blu-Ray needs some maintenance.

While it plays DVD's just fine, when you put in a Blu-ray, it comes back with a message that Signal cannot be found. The player worked fine for the first two months (earlier this year) and then stopped reading Blu-rays of any sort.
Were you able to resolve the issue with LG Blu ray player. I am facing the same issue, Is it the standards for Blu ray player. DVD work fine, only the Blu ray disc are the problem
I have the same problem. My LG Blu-ray player reads DVDs just fine but won't play Blu-ray disks at all. I'm going to try spraying it out with compressed air to see if that helps at all.
Well spraying it out with compressed air did nothing. Tomorrow I'm going to call around to some TV repair shops and see what they say. They'll probably tell me that it's cheaper to buy a new one than to repair it. I will also call LG and see if they stand behind their products, even though it's probably out of warranty.
mine is brand new and wont play all bluray disks. it sure isnt dirty. says disk isnt finished....

We’ve had the exact same problem with a Samsung and now a Sony Bluray player. Are they only supposed to last two months ?! Kinda points against buying them.

If the Sony is only "new" (under 12 months )months old it will still be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Get it repaired, replaced or refunded under warranty.
Electronics these days are usually very good a lot better than say 15 years ago Now they either fail very early in their life or go on to last a very long time usually with no problems
I think that it depends on the quality of the components. There is a lot of outsourcing for the various components that make up a device and sometimes QC is not that good I suspect.
Something has got to give when trying to lower the cost and increase the profit ;-)
Sometimes the blu ray laser goes bad. It will read dvds ,but not blu rays. Currently experiencing it with not loading 4ks but plays bluray n dvds fine. Smh. Its alaways something. A 500$ player should last longer than 2 years or 500 movies.ugh

It's brand new not dirty at all plays some dvds and blurays but not other and other time it reads half the menu but cannot display the actual movie . Maybe I have to update the firmware and version ? There have to be other people with the same problem.

Same situation with my LG Blu-ray player. DVDs work fine.I have brand new discs 20-25 bucks a piece that I can't even watch. I thought I was upgrading, but apparently not.

I have the same problem with my LG Blu-ray player. Plays DVDs fine but not Blu-ray discs. So frustrating! I'm going to take it over to a local TV repair shop and see if it just needs a cleaning. I'll let you guys know if they're able to fix it and what the problem was.

When I turn my LG blu-ray player on, the logo comes up then my TV screen goes blank when I put s disc in I can hear it spinning but screen is still blank
