Inverter cable swap and board swap

I have a Macbook I use for spares and one I am repairing. The Macbook for spares has the block type inverter cable connector and the one I am repairing has the flat connector.

Are these to interchangeable if I swap the cable or board and cable?

thanks

Update

Both screens have a serial number stamped top right of 311OT-0174A if that helps as well

Update

Swapping something for something has resulted in a working screen, havent fully tested it but we'll see what happens over a period of use I guess

Can you supply both systems last four digits of their serial numbers so we can correctly ID what you have. Make sure to denote which is the one you're trying to repair.

Here's a breakdown on what is different by the specs between these two models: EveryMac

I don't find this part number 311OT-0174A in my Apple docs is this the manufactures part number for the display its self or Apples P/N?

完成的

The number is most likely a 3110T-0174A and the display could be a LG/Phillips. There should be more numbers on the display.

Double check the P/N on the inverter if it is the same part then you should be OK here.

Apple used a few manufactures displays and somethings are different. Like the connector on the display being different. What's important here is the inverter side being the same part (same pinouts).

Sorry to say it's been quite awhile since I've worked on the MacBooks and I don't remember hitting a snag with the inverter cable like you have.

kelvin stephenson, according to the service manual the Apple part number for the inverter is 922-8280. Here is the compatibility list for that number.

information is from here.

The inverter cable part number for both models, numbers provided by you, is 922-8281. The cable is compatible with the following models:

MacBook 13.3" 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Late 2006

MacBook 13.3" 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo (A1181) - Early 2008

same source as above. There are two types of connectors on the inverter cable. The earlier models used the 4-wall connector with a typical socket type end and the later models used the 3-wall connector that snap in. Hope this helps, good luck.
