My whole iPod touch screen will not work

I have a 4th generation I pod touch and nothing on it will work my home button, volume button and on/off button work, but that's it. My ipod touch does have a cracked screen, but it still worked fine. My boyfriend borrowed it at work one day and he said that it would not work at all. At first when it started to act up it would start to unlock, but wouldn't slide all the way. It eventually would unlock, but all of the left side of the screen wouldn't work so I charged it thinking that was the problem. I went to go and use it the next day and the whole screen will not work. It won't unlock or anything. What do I do????

I would first try this late better than never so press the on off button and after three seconds keep holding it and press the home button continue to hold and it should now be able to be re done but better than a4 spent saved hope someone sees this

Rose, "My ipod touch does have a cracked screen",sounds to me like your digitizer circuit has failed, possibly caused by the previous crack. Replace the front display panel. Here is the guide and the assembly is available right here, as well as many other places. Hope this helps, good luck.

the same thing happend to me. I have cracks too. but it's worse. I think something from inside the ipod is broken but I want to try and bring it to a repair. So you should go on kijiji. and find someone to try and fix it. hopefully it doesn't cost much. anyway hope this helped a bit. I'm not really much of a tech person.yupp byeee

My iPod fourth gen. keeps saying this message " iPod needs to cool down before use." and when it goes back to the screen the buttons wont work.

try this hold down the on off button and hold it after three seconds keep holding it and press y the home button and together count to ten and see if your screen goes back to re entry mode if it works let me no ?
