laptop comes on for 2 seconds then goes off
i have a dell latitude 610 laptop when i press the power button on the lights all come on then after about 2 seconds it just goes off

This is a common problem with this model. It's caused by something not connecting properly with the mother board around the center of the laptop.
Try pressing gently on the center part of the keyboard during the first 2 seconds after pressing the power button.
This won't fix the problem, but it's a quick work around allowing it to boot.
