If so (and if it happens often enough) try starting the laptop in ''safe mode'' and check if it still happens.

Dell didn't supply drivers for this model past Win 8 -64 bit so perhaps it could be a driver issue if you're using Win 10. You could try installing the [https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81499/Intel-HD-Graphics-4000|Intel HD Graphics 4000 Win 10 drivers] and see if that resolves the problem
