No matter what you do, your camera will not turn on.

Remove the battery from the camera, and place it into the wall adapter. Then, plug the adapter into the wall, ensuring that the light on the adapter is illuminated to signify that it is charging. A full charge cycle for your camera's battery may take up to 130 minutes. When the charge cycle is complete, the light on the adapter will turn off. Unplug the adapter, remove the battery, and place it back in the camera.

Your camera's battery is rated to last for up to 300 pictures, or approximately 150 minutes of recording time. If you find that the battery is not performing as it should, or that it will no longer hold consider replacing it with a new battery.

Verify that the battery cover is closed securely and locked correctly in place., and that the battery is properly inserted into its housing.

You turn your camera on and this error pops up.

If your camera's lens housing becomes contaminated with dirt or sand, the lens may refuse to extend and contract properly. Clean the lens housing with a clean microfiber cloth. If this fails to resolve the issue, consider replacing the lens assembly. See our lens replacement guide here.

Before recalibrating your camera, back up any photos that you wish to save onto a computer or other external storage device. After you've done this, press the Menu/Set button on the camera. The Setup menu should appear on the screen. From there, select the Reset option.

Where have my photos gone?

Like any storage medium, SD cards can become corrupt during use, and your camera will be unable to read them. If this problem occurs, it can often be resolved by formatting your SD card. This process will delete any photos on your camera, so back up any that you would like to save onto a computer or other external storage device. Then, make sure the battery on your camera is fully charged, and that the SD card is properly inserted. Press the Menu/Set button, and select the Format option. Do not turn off the camera during the formatting process, as this could damage the SD card. After the format is complete, take a picture with the camera to verify that the SD card is working correctly.

If you find that your camera is still unable to read your SD card after formatting it, consider replacing the SD card. It is recommended by Panasonic that you purchase a replacement of Class 4 or better for pictures only, or Class 6 or better if you wish to shoot video.

Oh no, the screen is frozen!

If the camera refuses to respond to any input, it's possible that its internal software may have entered into an error state. Slide the power switch into the Off position and wait for the camera to fully power off. Then, slide the power switch into the On position. Once it powers in, the camera should once again be functional.

Before resetting your camera, back up any photos that you wish to save onto a computer or other external storage device. After you've done this, press the Menu/Set button on the camera. The Setup menu should appear on the screen. From there, select the Reset option.
