Unit Does Not Turn On ¶
The TF6 is nonfunctional after setting the switch to ON.
Check Power Cord ¶
Check if the power cord is properly plugged into the power outlet. If it is unplugged, plug the power cord into a nearby power outlet and make sure it is seated properly.
Power Outage ¶
Check if other appliances in the immediate area have power. If none are working, there may be a power outage in the local area. Contact your electric company for verification.
Damaged Power Cord ¶
Make sure there are no lacerations or damaged wire strands throughout the power cord. If the power cord is damaged, consult the TF6 Power Cord Replacement Guide.
Only Water is Brewing ¶
Only hot water is brewing into the decanter.
No Coffee Grounds in Filter Basket ¶
Check if there are any coffee grounds in the filter basket. If not, ensure there is a fresh filter filled with coffee grounds in the filter basket.
Old Coffee Grounds in Filter Basket ¶
The coffee grounds in the filter basket are old and no longer produce any color or flavor, resulting in colored water being brewed. Ensure a fresh filter with coffee grounds is placed in the filter basket.
Slow Brewing ¶
Coffee is brewing at a very slow and unusual pace.
Unit Needs Cleaning ¶
Over time, the TF6's water pump may build up lime and mineral deposits from tap water. It must be cleaned by running a brew cycle using vinegar (see page 8 of the Mr. Coffee TF Series User Manual).
Dust Cover is Broken ¶
The dust cover may have a crack or a hole. This will prevent steam buildup, and water won't flow into the coffee grounds properly. If you notice any damage, please consult the TF6 Dust Cover Replacement Guide.
Damaged Water Tubes ¶
The water tubes inside the unit are damaged and not directing the flow of water to the filter basket effectively. Concurrently, water may be observed leaking from the TF6. To fix this issue, the TF6's internal water tubes must be replaced. Consult the TF6 Internal Water Tubes Replacement Guide.
Grounds are in the Coffee ¶
Coffee grounds are appearing in the brewed coffee.
Paper filter not properly seated in the basket ¶
The coffee grounds are escaping the filter basket and falling into the decanter. Check if the paper filter is seated in the basket snugly. If it is not, dispose the old coffee filter and any brewed coffee grounds and position a new paper filter with the bottom portion of the filter seated flatly against the filter basket.
Collapsed Filter ¶
The paper filter has collapsed and the filter walls have folded over, allowing coffee grounds to leak through the filter basket and into the decanter. If your filter has collapsed, remove the old filter and clean out the filter basket of any remaining coffee grounds. Finally, grab a new filter, turn it inside out, and place the new filter in the filter basket.
Damaged Filter Basket ¶
The filter basket may have holes or cracks that are allowing coffee grounds to escape into the decanter. Consult the TF6 Filter Basket Replacement Guide to fix this issue.
Water Appearing Around Base of the Unit ¶
Water is leaking through the bottom of the unit and onto the surrounding area.
Excess Water in Reservoir ¶
Too much water has been poured into the reservoir of the TF6 and may be overflowing. Observe the TF6's water window while adding water and ensure that the water line is always visible. This will prevent water from overflowing from the TF6's reservoir. Consult the Mr. Coffee TF Series User Manual for help.
Damaged Water Tubes ¶
The water tubes inside the unit are damaged and are allowing water to escape from the inside of the TF6. Concurrently, slow brewing flow may be observed. In some cases, brewing may cease completely.
