Hi there! My name is Alivia Harrison and I am a senior at the University of Rhode Island.

I'm majoring in Communicative Disorders. I plan on pursuing a career as a Speech and Language Pathologist. I have enjoyed learning about atypical development and communication processes. I hope to work as an SLP assistant and eventually get my master's degree!

I have no experience in mechanical design or repairs, but I am always willing to try new things! I consider myself a lifelong learner and would like to gain more knowledge from this experience.

Interests

As a future member of a helping profession, I enjoy connecting with others. I hope to work in Early Intervention or a school based program with children. I have worked with this age group every summer during my undergrad. I enjoyed being a part of the Boys & Girls Club organization. It was truly a positive place for kids. It confirmed my plans of a career helping children. I'm interested in speech/language delays, as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Hobbies

Most of my free time is spent hanging out with my two dogs! I love going to the beach with friends, especially for sunset. I like going out to eat and listening to all kinds of music. My current favorites are EDM and country. I was involved in my school's music program for eight years. This is where my love for music really grew. A fun fact is that we won National Championships three times in my career with the band.
