The volume up button, which increases the sound of the speaker, is on the right side shaped like a plus sign (+) and the volume down button, which decreases the sound of the speaker, is on the left side shaped like a minus sign (-).

To separate the front face plate from the bottom half of the speaker, insert a spudger into the the middle groove.

Insert another spudger into the middle groove to hold the front plate up as you separate both plates on all sides. Use multiple opening tools to keep plates separated if necessary.

Using the plastic spudger, pry the button from the front plate of the speaker. The volume button is connected to the speaker by a plastic tab that has blue glue holding it down. The entire volume button can be removed from the front plate by carefully using the spudger to lift it up until it comes off.
