The following instructions will explain how to open the back of the HP Elitebook 745 G2 in order to replace the battery in the case of either battery failure or other repairs that require the removal of the battery. There are no required tools for this replacement but an anti static wrist strap is recommended in order to prevent damaging the exposed electronics of the laptop during repair.

Gently place the laptop down on a suitable workplace with the back of the laptop facing up

Remove the cover by sliding the lock to the left. You will hear a click once the cover has been unlocked. Gently push down on the cover and slide it towards you to remove it.
