Due to the constant stress of the door of the refrigerator being opened and closed, as well as supporting lots of weight, the door shelves can eventually crack. In my case, the bar support for the shelf is gone. Anything placed on the shelf can easily fall because the shelf can no longer hold much weight. I will provide instructions on how to attach the two broken pieces together so that when anyone places food items on the shelf, nothing will fall off or break. This fix will be useful for individuals whose refrigerator shelf bar is broken and need a cost friendly repair without breaking the bank.

Open the refrigerator door.
Empty any items on the shelf bar.

Grasp the shelf on each end and lift each straight up.
Disengage the two hooks from the molded tabs on the liner.
Inspect to make sure they are not damaged.

Remove any tape that was holding the shelf bar together.

Clean the shelf using dish detergent and water.
Remove any tape residue with a scouring pad.

Take a paper towel or towel and dry off the shelf bar.

Try fitting the pieces together to make sure that the pieces are intact and that nothing is missing.

Spread the Loctite 60 Sec Universal glue along the edge of both sides of the bar.

Carefully join the pieces together and hold them tight for two minutes.
Tape the pieces together with blue painter’s tape.
The tape comes off easily without leaving any gluey residue.

Leave the shelf to dry for ten minutes.
Once the glue dries, take the blue painter’s tape off.

Take the shelf bar and line the hooks over the tabs and press it firmly back into the refrigerator door.
Do not place too much pressure on the shelf, so it won't crack again.
