A well made recording device that used DAT(digital audio tape) as a medium. The Panasonic Sv-3800 became a popular piece in pro and semi pro studios because of its smooth and clear sound and approachable price point. It was first released in 1987, but is still used in the present day especially as a mastering device or for gaining an extra 2 channels using its optical connections in conjunction with modern computer based a/d converters.
