New features over previous models include a 100k RGB pixel metering sensor that can also use color data to assist in auto focusing, and an ISO range from 50 to 204,800, with the lowest levels of image noise from any Canon full frame sensor at that time.

The 1D X is also supplemented by the Canon 1Dc, (for Cinema) which uses a custom firmware to gain 4k video capture and several other video features. It likely has the same, or very similar hardware to the Canon 1D X.
