How do I program a new Chip Key for a 2003 Buick LeSabre Custom?
I bought the key online and the instructions didn't work.

Fin, per manual this is what I come up with:"
1. Insert a new cut key in ignition and turn key to the ON position for
10 minutes and 30 seconds.
2. Within 45 seconds turn the key to OFF and then back to the ON position for 10 minutes and 30 seconds.
3. Within 45 seconds turn the key to OFF and then back to the ON position for 10 minutes and 30 seconds.
4. Turn key OFF then back ON. The key is now programmed.
Start vehicle to test key.
If you have a working key, you can duplicate the new key by:"
1. Insert an existing programmed working key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn ignition to the ON position for 5 seconds, then back to OFF position.
3. Remove the existing key and within 5 seconds insert new key and turn it to the ON position for 5 seconds.
4. Turn key OFF then back to ON. The key is now programmed.
Start vehicle to test key.

Just tried this and it worked! Had to try it 3 times. Probably didn't leave it in the ignition long enough! Thanks for the help!
did your security light stay on for the entire time, or did it just disappear after about 10 seconds? Because that is what mine is doing and all of the forms I have seen say to watch the security light and wait until it turns off

The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten minutes.
When the security light goes out, you have one minute to start the next step.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder to OFF and then back to the ON position.
The security light on the dash will illuminate and stay on for ten more minutes.
When the security light goes out, you have one minute to start the next step.

4. After the security light has gone off for the third time, turn key off and remove
from ignition. The key is now programmed and all other keys have been erased.
5. Insert key and start vehicle to test key.
