Fluid Sensor issue (Error 1014)

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Roomba Combo J7+ (water tank / mop model). The robot keeps reporting a low water level error even though the water tank is completely full.

Here's what I've already tried:

  • Removed and reseated the water tank several times until it clicks.
  • Cleaned the tank and the robot's tank contact area with a dry cloth.
  • Agitated the tank vigorously with warm (not hot) water to free the float.
  • Left warm water inside the tank for a few minutes, then rinsed and reinstalled.
  • Restarted the robot by holding the CLEAN button for ~10–20 seconds.

I also noticed something important: I can reach the float through the fill hole and move it with my finger. It seems to move, so it doesn't appear to be physically stuck. However, the error still comes back.

My questions:

  1. Does anyone know where exactly the Hall sensor (the magnetic sensor that reads the float) is located on the robot body? Is it in the tank docking area at the rear?
  2. Could the float's magnet have failed or become weak, even though the float itself moves?
  3. Has anyone successfully fixed this without replacing the tank or the robot?
  4. If the Hall sensor itself is faulty, is it replaceable, or does it require a board-level repair?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
