Front camera suddenly stopped working.

Hi. So my front camera suddenly stopped working almost 6months ago and im really starting to get annoyed cause i cant use it. I've googled some reasons why it doesn't work and it might be because the connection is bad? When i press on the front camera (has to be kind of a hard press) then it works for a bit. So it must be the connector issue. but i could not find any solutions to fix it. Has any one tried fixing it yourself or have you brought the phone to a repair shop.

If pressing on the front camera makes it work temporarily, you’re probably right that it’s a connection issue. It sounds like the camera module or its flex cable isn’t making consistent contact with the motherboard.

Before opening it up, I’d try a couple things:

Restart the phone and test in the stock camera app.
Check for software updates.
Try safe mode to rule out another app causing the camera issue.

If it still only works when you press on it, I wouldn’t keep doing that because you can damage the camera module or connector. A repair usually involves opening the phone, disconnecting the battery, reseating the front camera flex cable, and checking the connector for dirt, corrosion, or damage.

The Nothing Phone (2) uses a glued back cover, so getting inside requires heat and care. If you haven't done phone repairs before, this is one I'd probably let a repair shop handle. They can usually tell pretty quickly whether it’s just a loose connection or if the camera module itself needs replacing.
