How can I fix e74, best option.

ialready have fixed overheating lights, it now has heat sinks on the hana and othe chip with the microsoft circle on it, it has new thermal paste and new thermal pads on the underside of the board, i heated it for a while with a hairdryer, this &#^#!* gets hot!, and kept the x clamp metal thingts on because screws kept it on overheating lights, please someone help. should i use an x clamp kit or just reheat with a heat gun

? and what is the benefits of screws and washers instead of using the x metal clamps. xbox 360, ben q, 2007 make.

please dont refer me to using the ifixit rrod repair kit, thanks =]

You haven't fixed anything, everything there is just considered a "band aid" fix as it's not actually fixing the direct problem.

To properly fix an e74 error you need a rework/reball station which can cost thousands.

The bad thing for you is there is no guaranteed fix, you cannot fix this forever even with a reball station. Reflowing with a hair dryer will not do anything as it cannot reach a hot enough temperature to melt, a heat gun can but again your not fixing the problem.

I'd take it to somebody who does this professionally or buy a new one. If you don't care about the xbox then go ahead and use screws/washers/bolts and a heat gun.
