Where is the accelerometer

Hi all, I have an iPad 9th Gen (2021) where the rotation is not working. It does rotate but it is always 90 degrees out. So when you hold it in portrait the screen is rotated by 90 degrees as if in Landscape. I cannot find any info on where the accelerometer chip is, any help gratefully received.

I received this iPad as dead. It was a faulty NAND which I replaced with a new NAND after configuring the SYSCFG. It now works fine except for the rotation (please note this is after the restore and before activation (hello Screen), so no other apps loaded.

Thanks once again

There is a chip which holds the two sensors. But before you start digging in again let's double check things as there is also a gyroscope involved here as well. Go to the Apps Store and download this App Sensor Logger here's a snapshot of what it offers

Thank you for taking the time Dan to respond. I cannot load any apps as this is a customer machine and after being restored it is iCLoud locked so I only the customer can activate it.

After further investigation I have also discovered the WiFi is not finding any local SSID's. However, the CHIP is seen and read by 3U Tools. So I think there is larger things wrong with this motherboard. Perhaps at the RF level.

For anyone wanting to know, I discovered the the acceleromoter + gyroscope is located in the IC located on the screenshot. It is the same part for all iphones 8 to 11. I replaced this IC and it made no difference.

So I am no nearer to finding the fault with the rotation and WiFi and have to give it back as a failed repair as it is not a viable repair. Thanks though I will bear this app in mind for next time.

@nathanjohn - Curious what else was wrong with it from the start? Did it have any physical damage. That's a bit much within different areas.

The original fault was that it was dead. It was not physically damaged and looked in very good condition. I could see from the power draw that it was looping on boot with no display. So I attempted an UPDATE of the IOS which failed at 19%, when the NAND is first written to. So I replaced the NAND, restoring SYSCFG and then IOS successfully. At this point the rotation issue was seen and later I saw that no Wifi was found. I also tried a couple more restores just to be sure. I then replaced the gyroscope IC and barometer sensor next to it. They are very close to the NAND and I really thought that perhaps a little too much heat had damaged them. Not the case, and the WIFI IC is at the other end of the board..... so very weird but you can't win them all.

I actually had two iPAD 2021's on the bench with the same fault. The other one was a successful repair.
